Job Summary
Prepares the operating room by ensuring all required instruments, equipment, and sterile supplies are ready and functional for each surgical procedure. Assists in positioning and preparing patients for surgery, maintaining a sterile field throughout procedures while adhering to infection control protocols. Monitors patient condition during surgery, documents significant changes, and handles specimen collection, labeling, and transport according to facility protocols. Collaborates with the surgical team to ensure compliance with policies, participates in patient handoff communication, and cleans and restocks the operating room between cases. Requires one year of recent OR RN experience, valid RN license, and current BLS certification for a 13-week travel assignment in Greenville, Ohio.
Required Qualifications
- One year of recent experience as an Operating Room RN
- Valid RN license in compliance with state regulations
- Current BLS certification (AHA/ARC)
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position, move about, move equipment (50-100lbs), push, pull, and bend
- Must be able to work effectively with a variety of personnel (professional and ancillary) to present a positive attitude and professionalism
- Must have the ability to grasp, perform fine manipulation, push/pull, and move about when assisting with procedures and/or using department equipment
- Must be able to cope with frequent contact with the general public and customers while meeting deadlines under pressure
- Must be able to work under close supervision occasionally, as well as working without assistance from other personnel
- Must be able to contend with irregular activity schedules occasionally and continuous concentration to detail
- Must possess visual acuity and ability to effectively communicate
- Critical thinking, service excellence, and good interpersonal communication skills
- The ability to read, write, and communicate in the English language
- Ability to read/comprehend written instructions, follow verbal instructions, and proficiency in PC skills
Desired Qualifications
- ACLS (AHA/ARC), PALS (AHA/ARC) or ENPC certifications
- Nursing Certification (CNOR)
