Job Summary
Oversee OR operations and nursing staff during assigned shifts, ensuring safe, high-quality patient care and compliance with regulations and hospital policies. Manage staffing, scheduling, and daily assignments while supervising, coaching, and supporting staff development and performance. Assist with performance management and HR-related activities, monitor supplies and equipment readiness, and coordinate surgical services, patient flow, and care transitions. Rounds with patients and families to support a positive patient experience and provide direct patient care as needed to maintain safe staffing and patient care standards. Address patient care concerns and escalate issues through the appropriate chain of command. Requires current RN license, BLS, ACLS, PALS, and Sedation Monitoring certifications, plus one year of acute care nursing experience with one to two years of OR supervisory experience. Available for days and nights shifts in Lewiston, Maine, with a 12-week assignment length.
Required Qualifications
- Current and valid state RN License
- Current BLS (AHA) upon hire and maintain current
- Current ACLS (AHA) upon hire and maintain current
- Minimum of one year as a staff nurse in an acute care hospital setting
- E.D. setting required
- Previous supervisory experience, required
- Previous supervisory experience, one to two years, in acute care hospital Surgical OR setting, required
- Competency in Sedation Monitoring upon hire and maintain current
