Job Summary
Oversee OR operations and nursing staff during assigned days and nights shifts, ensuring safe, high-quality patient care and compliance with regulations. Manage staffing, scheduling, and daily assignments while supervising, coaching, and supporting staff development. Assist with performance management, monitor supplies and equipment readiness, and coordinate surgical services and patient flow. Rounds with patients and families to support care transitions, providing direct patient care as needed to maintain safe staffing standards. Address patient care concerns and escalate issues through the appropriate chain of command. Requires a current RN license, BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications, plus one year of acute care experience with one to two years of OR supervisory experience. Sedation monitoring competency is also required.
Required Qualifications
- Current and valid state RN License
- Current BLS (AHA) upon hire and maintain current
- Current ACLS (AHA) upon hire and maintain current
- Minimum of one year as a staff nurse in an acute care hospital setting
- E.D. setting required
- Previous supervisory experience, required
- Previous supervisory experience, one to two years, in acute care hospital Surgical OR setting, required
- Competency in Sedation Monitoring upon hire and maintain current
