Job Summary
The Travel Oncology RN administers prescribed cancer treatments, manages treatment-related side effects, and provides education and emotional support to patients and families in hospital and clinical settings. Collaborates with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality, patient-centered oncology care while maintaining confidentiality, integrity, and safety. Duties include educating patients about oncology procedures, administering medications and treatments per oncology nursing practices, preparing oncology equipment, monitoring patient comfort and safety, documenting assessments and outcomes, responding to life-saving situations per standards, developing individualized education plans, participating in quality improvement initiatives, and advocating for patients throughout treatment. Essential skills include critical thinking, effective communication, ability to read/write in English, PC proficiency, and physical ability to perform nursing activities; familiarity with infection control and regulatory standards. Required Qualifications
- One year of recent experience as an Oncology RN
- Valid RN license in compliance with state regulations
- Current BLS certification (AHA/ARC)
