Job Summary
Administer prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with approved oncology nursing techniques while monitoring and addressing patient comfort, safety, and side effects. Educate patients and families about oncology procedures, develop individualized education plans, and advocate for patients navigating complex treatment regimens. Prepare and maintain oncology-specific equipment, assess and document conditions, and respond to life-saving situations based on established protocols. Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and adhere to hospital safety and infection control guidelines. This 13-week assignment in Minneapolis requires a skilled Oncology RN with one year of recent experience and valid state licensure.
Required Qualifications
- One year of recent experience as an Oncology RN
- Valid RN license in compliance with state regulations
- Current BLS certification (AHA/ARC)
- The ability to read, write, and communicate in the English language
- Ability to read/comprehend written instructions, follow verbal instructions, and proficiency in PC skills
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position, move about, move equipment (50-100lbs), push, pull, and bend
- Must be able to work effectively with a variety of personnel (professional and ancillary) to present a positive attitude and professionalism
- Must have the ability to grasp, perform fine manipulation, push/pull, and move about when assisting with procedures and/or using department equipment
- Must be able to cope with frequent contact with the general public and customers while meeting deadlines under pressure
- Must be able to work under close supervision occasionally, as well as working without assistance from other personnel
- Must be able to contend with irregular activity schedules occasionally and continuous concentration to detail
- Must possess visual acuity and ability to effectively communicate
Desired Qualifications
- Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN) certification
- ACLS (AHA/ARC) certification
