Job Summary
Screen patients for MRI safety and contraindications, educate them on the procedure, and start I.V.s to administer contrast media as needed. Maintain and troubleshoot MRI equipment, monitor image quality during scans, and document all procedure details in compliance with hospital policies. Collaborate with radiologists to ensure accurate diagnostic results while following infection control and radiation safety protocols. Maintain a clean workspace and perform other duties as assigned within the scope of an MRI Technologist.
Required Qualifications
- Successful completion of a Radiology program of study with specialization and training in MRI
- One years' experience as an MRI Tech
- Valid Radiology/MRI license in compliance with state regulations
- Current BLS Certification (AHA/ARC)
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position
- Must be able to move about
- Must be able to move equipment (50-100lbs)
- Must be able to push
- Must be able to pull
- Must be able to bend
- Must be able to work effectively with a variety of personnel (professional and ancillary)
- Must be able to present a positive attitude and professionalism
- Must have the ability to grasp
- Must have the ability to perform fine manipulation
- Must have the ability to push/pull
- Must have the ability to move about when assisting with procedures and/or using department equipment
- Must be able to cope with frequent contact with the general public and customers
- Must be able to meet deadlines under pressure

- Must be able to work without assistance from other personnel
- Must be able to contend with irregular activity schedules occasionally
- Must be able to maintain continuous concentration to detail
- Must possess visual acuity
- Must be able to effectively communicate
- The ability to read, write, and communicate in the English language
- Ability to read/comprehend written instructions
- Ability to follow verbal instructions
- Proficiency in PC skills
Desired Qualifications
- Current ARRT or equivalent certification
- Current ARMRIT or equivalent certification
