Job Summary
Assess and monitor critically ill patients, recognizing and responding to subtle changes in patient condition. Administer complex medications and treatments while operating advanced life support equipment, including arterial lines and central venous pressure monitoring. Document all interventions and notify providers of status changes, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. Provide education to patients and families regarding treatments and recovery expectations. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to optimize care and adhere to strict infection control protocols. Maintain proficiency in critical care procedures through ongoing education.
Required Qualifications
- One year of recent experience as an ICU RN
- Valid RN license in compliance with state regulations
- Current BLS (AHA/ARC) certification
- Current ACLS (AHA/ARC) certification
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position
- Must be able to move equipment (50-100lbs)
- Must be able to push, pull, and bend
- Must be able to work effectively with a variety of personnel (professional and ancillary)
- Must be able to present a positive attitude and professionalism
- Must be able to cope with frequent contact with the general public and customers
- Must be able to meet deadlines under pressure
- Must be able to work under close supervision occasionally
- Must be able to work without assistance from other personnel
- Must be able to contend with irregular activity schedules occasionally
- Must be able to maintain continuous concentration to detail
- Must possess visual acuity
- Must be able to effectively communicate
- Ability to read, write, and communicate in the English language
- Ability to read/comprehend written instructions
- Ability to follow verbal instructions
- Proficiency in PC skills
- Must be able to grasp
- Must be able to perform fine manipulation
- Must be able to push/pull
- Must be able to move about when assisting with procedures and/or using department equipment
Desired Qualifications
- Critical Care Registered Nurse (CCRN) certification
- TNCC certification
- NIHSS certification
