Job Summary
The ICU Registered Nurse provides comprehensive critical care in an ICU, including assessing and monitoring critically ill patients, operating life-support equipment, administering advanced treatments, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams. Responsibilities include recognizing changes in patient condition, administering complex medications, managing hemodynamic monitoring (arterial lines, central venous pressure, pulmonary artery catheters), documenting care and interventions, educating patients and families, and adhering to infection control and regulatory standards to ensure high-acuity patient safety and outcomes. Strong critical thinking, communication, and professional ethics are essential, with ongoing professional development to maintain proficiency in critical care procedures and technologies.
Required Qualifications
- One year of recent ICU RN experience
- Valid RN license
- Current BLS (AHA/ARC) certification
- ACLS (AHA/ARC) certification
