Job Summary
Assess and monitor critically ill patients, recognizing and responding to subtle changes in patient condition. Administer complex medications and treatments in accordance with approved critical care nursing techniques. Operate and manage advanced life support equipment, including arterial lines and central venous pressure monitoring. Ensure patient safety and comfort in high-acuity ICU environments while adhering to strict infection control protocols. Accurately document all assessments, interventions, and patient responses in the medical record to ensure continuity of care. Provide education to patients and families regarding the ICU environment and recovery expectations. Collaborate closely with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to optimize patient outcomes.
Required Qualifications
- One year of recent experience as an ICU RN
- Valid RN license in compliance with state regulations
- Current BLS (AHA/ARC) certification
- Current ACLS (AHA/ARC) certification
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position
- Must be able to move equipment (50-100lbs), push, pull, and bend
- Must be able to work effectively with a variety of personnel (professional and ancillary)
- Must be able to read, write, and communicate in the English language
- Ability to read/comprehend written instructions
- Ability to follow verbal instructions
- Proficiency in PC skills
- Must be able to cope with frequent contact with the general public and customers
- Must be able to meet deadlines under pressure
- Must be able to work under close supervision occasionally
- Must be able to work without assistance from other personnel
- Must be able to contend with irregular activity schedules occasionally
- Must be able to maintain continuous concentration to detail
- Must possess visual acuity
- Must be able to effectively communicate
Desired Qualifications
- Critical Care Registered Nurse (CCRN) certification
- TNCC certification
- NIHSS certification
