Job Summary
The ICU Registered Nurse provides comprehensive critical care in an ICU setting, including assessing and monitoring critically ill patients, operating life-support equipment, administering advanced treatments, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams. Responsibilities include documenting assessments and interventions, performing advanced hemodynamic monitoring (arterial lines, central venous pressure, pulmonary artery catheters), educating patients and families about the ICU environment and recovery expectations, ensuring infection control, and participating in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and operational efficiency. Requires strong critical thinking, excellent communication, and adherence to safety and regulatory standards; must maintain proficiency in critical care procedures and technologies and work within a high-acuity environment.
Required Qualifications
- One year of ICU RN experience
- Valid RN license in compliance with state regulations
- Current BLS (AHA/ARC) and ACLS (AHA/ARC) certifications
