Job Summary
Oversee ICU operations and nursing staff during assigned shifts, managing staffing, scheduling, and patient assignments. Supervise, mentor, and support staff performance while assisting with performance management and HR activities. Monitor supplies, equipment, and unit readiness, then coordinate patient care, admissions, transfers, and discharges. Round with patients and families to support a positive experience, providing direct patient care as needed to maintain safe staffing and quality outcomes. Ensure safe, high-quality patient care and regulatory compliance while addressing concerns and escalating issues through the appropriate chain of command.
Required Qualifications
- Current and valid state RN License
- Current BLS (AHA) upon hire and maintain current
- Current ACLS (AHA) upon hire and maintain current
- Minimum of one year as a staff nurse in an acute care hospital setting, E.D. setting required
- Previous supervisory experience, one to two years, in acute care hospital, ICU setting, required
