Job Summary
Oversees ICU operations and nursing staff during assigned shifts, managing staffing, scheduling, and patient assignments. Supervises and mentors staff performance while assisting with HR activities, and monitors supplies and unit readiness. Coordinates patient care, admissions, transfers, and discharges, rounding with patients and families to support their experience. Addresses care concerns and escalates issues through the chain of command, providing direct patient care as needed to maintain safe staffing and quality outcomes. Requires a current RN license, BLS, and ACLS certifications, plus one year of acute care nursing experience with one to two years in a supervisory role.
Required Qualifications
- Current and valid state RN License
- Current BLS (AHA) upon hire and maintain current
- Current ACLS (AHA) upon hire and maintain current
- Minimum of one year as a staff nurse in an acute care hospital setting, E.D. setting required
- Previous supervisory experience, one to two years, in acute care hospital, ICU setting, required
