Job Summary
Supervise nursing staff during shifts to ensure efficient patient care and adherence to hospital policies while coordinating admissions, transfers, and discharges to maintain optimal patient flow. Ensure compliance with regulatory standards, adjust staffing levels based on acuity and census, and respond to emergencies with leadership to guarantee patient and staff safety. Collaborate with department leaders to address operational needs, serve as a resource for resolving conflicts, and participate in quality assurance initiatives. Lead emergency preparedness efforts and utilize electronic health records to document activities. This 13-week travel assignment in Atlanta requires recent House Supervisor experience and current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications.
Required Qualifications
- One year of recent experience as an RN House Supervisor
- Valid RN license in compliance with state regulations
- Current BLS certification (AHA/ARC)
- Current ACLS (AHA/ARC)
- Current PALS (AHA/ARC) or ENPC
- Current NRP Certification
- Current NIHSS Certification
- Current CPI Certification
- Current TNCC Certifications
- Critical thinking, service excellence, and good interpersonal communication skills
- The ability to read, write, and communicate in the English language
- Ability to read/comprehend written instructions, follow verbal instructions, and proficiency in PC skills
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position, move about, move equipment (50-100lbs), push, pull, and bend
- Must be able to work effectively with a variety of personnel (professional and ancillary) to present a positive attitude and professionalism
- Must have the ability to grasp, perform fine manipulation, push/pull, and move about when assisting with procedures and/or using department equipment
- Must be able to cope with frequent contact with the general public and customers while meeting deadlines under pressure
- Must be able to work under close supervision occasionally, as well as working without assistance from other personnel
- Must be able to contend with irregular activity schedules occasionally and continuous concentration to detail
- Must possess visual acuity and ability to effectively communicate
