Job Summary
Conduct pre-hospital advanced life support care from initial contact until patient transfer, performing assessment, triage, and treatment while maintaining thorough documentation. Operate aircraft and assist with pre-mission briefings, liftoff checklists, and safety briefings as a flight resource for neonatal and pediatric patients. Maintain equipment, supplies, and aircraft cleanliness to ensure rapid response, and participate in patient follow-up, outreach, and departmental activities. Work 24-hour shifts on a rotating schedule of 14 days on and 14 days off, stationed at a base in Arizona, Kansas, New Mexico, or Illinois for 18 months.
Required Qualifications
- 3 years of licensed paramedic experience in a busy ALS 911 ambulance or flight setting within the last 5 years
- Compact license or a license in Arizona, Kansas, New Mexico, or Illinois
- Reside greater than 4 hours from the assigned location
- Provide scheduling flexibility to allow up to 14-day assignments
- Maintain flexibility of assigned base location
- Indicate the percentage of time spent traveling > 50%
- Maintain a weight not to exceed 225 pounds including empty flight suit and boots
- Registered EMT-P licensed in state(s) served
- National Certification
- Specialty certification: FP-C or CCP-C required within two (2) years of hire
- Current certifications in Healthcare Provider BLS/CPR; ACLS; PALS or equivalent
- Advanced provider ITLS or PHTLS
- Advance trauma course: TNCC, ATLS/ATCN, TNATC or CAMTS-approved advanced trauma course
- NRP certification
- NIMS Training IS 100, 200, 700, 800 and HazMat upon hire
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including 24 hour shifts, overtime and an on-call rotation
- Dependable and self-motivated
- High critical thinking and reasoning skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to prioritize and multi-task
- Proficient with Microsoft Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in health-related field preferred
- Previous critical care transport and flight experience preferred
- 1 year of full-time flight experience required for per diem (PRN) positions
