Job Summary
Rapidly assess and triage patients upon arrival, prioritizing care based on severity. Administer prescribed medications and treatments per approved protocols while preparing equipment for physicians. Monitor patient comfort and safety, documenting comprehensive assessments and interventions in electronic medical records. Respond to life-saving situations using emergency nursing standards and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including physicians, specialists, and social workers. Initiate individualized patient education plans and adhere to hospital safety and infection control guidelines. Requires one year of recent ER experience, valid state license, and English proficiency for this 13-week assignment in Kokomo, Indiana.
Required Qualifications
- One year of recent experience as an ER RN
- Valid RN license in compliance with state regulations
- Must be able to cope with frequent contact with the general public and customers while meeting deadlines under pressure
- Must be able to work under close supervision occasionally, as well as working without assistance from other personnel
- Must possess visual acuity and ability to effectively communicate
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position, move about, move equipment (50-100lbs), push, pull, and bend
- Must have the ability to grasp, perform fine manipulation, push/pull, and move about when assisting with procedures and/or using department equipment
- The ability to read, write, and communicate in the English language
