Job Summary
Rapidly assess and triage patients upon arrival, prioritizing care based on severity. Explain emergency procedures to patients and families while administering prescribed medications and treatments per approved protocols. Prepare equipment for physicians during emergency treatments, monitor patient comfort and safety, and document comprehensive assessments in electronic medical records. Respond to life-saving situations based on emergency nursing standards and collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams including physicians, specialists, and social workers. Maintain adherence to hospital safety protocols and infection control guidelines while coping with frequent public contact under pressure.
Required Qualifications
- One year of recent experience as an ER RN
- Valid RN license in compliance with state regulations
- Must be able to cope with frequent contact with the general public and customers while meeting deadlines under pressure
- Must be able to work under close supervision occasionally, as well as working without assistance from other personnel
- Must possess visual acuity and ability to effectively communicate
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position, move about, move equipment (50-100lbs), push, pull, and bend
- Must have the ability to grasp, perform fine manipulation, push/pull, and move about when assisting with procedures and/or using department equipment
- The ability to read, write, and communicate in the English language
- Must be able to travel (implied by 'Travel ER Nurses Needed' and '13-week travel assignment')
