Job Summary
Rapidly assess and triage patients upon arrival, prioritizing care based on severity, and explain emergency procedures to patients and families. Administer prescribed medications and treatments per approved protocols, prepare equipment for physicians, and monitor patient comfort and safety. Respond to life-saving situations, document comprehensive assessments in electronic medical records, and initiate patient education plans. Collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams including physicians, specialists, and social workers to ensure comprehensive care while adhering to hospital safety and infection control guidelines. Requires one year of recent ER experience and a valid RN license.
Required Qualifications
- One year of recent experience as an ER RN
- Valid RN license in compliance with state regulations
- Must be able to cope with frequent contact with the general public and customers while meeting deadlines under pressure
- Must be able to work under close supervision occasionally, as well as working without assistance from other personnel
- Must possess visual acuity and ability to effectively communicate
- The ability to read, write, and communicate in the English language
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position, move about, move equipment (50-100lbs), push, pull, and bend
- Must have the ability to grasp, perform fine manipulation, push/pull, and move about when assisting with procedures and/or using department equipment
