Job Summary
Rapidly assess and triage patients upon arrival, prioritizing care based on severity. Administer prescribed medications and treatments while preparing equipment for physicians during emergency procedures. Monitor patient comfort and safety, responding to immediate needs and life-saving situations per nursing standards. Document comprehensive assessments, interventions, and outcomes in electronic medical records. Initiate patient education plans and collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams including physicians, specialists, and social workers. Adhere to hospital safety protocols and infection control guidelines. This 13-week travel assignment in Sioux City, Iowa requires one year of recent ER experience and a valid RN license.
Required Qualifications
- One year of recent experience as an ER RN
- Valid RN license in compliance with state regulations
- Must be able to cope with frequent contact with the general public and customers while meeting deadlines under pressure
- Must be able to work under close supervision occasionally, as well as working without assistance from other personnel
- Must possess visual acuity and ability to effectively communicate
- The ability to read, write, and communicate in the English language
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position, move about, move equipment (50-100lbs), push, pull, and bend
- Must have the ability to grasp, perform fine manipulation, push/pull, and move about when assisting with procedures and/or using department equipment
