Job Summary

Assist physicians with electrophysiology studies, cardiac ablations, and device implantations while performing comprehensive nursing assessments and documenting findings accurately. Educate patients and families on pre- and post-procedure expectations to ensure informed consent, then administer medications including conscious sedation per physician orders. Monitor cardiac rhythms, hemodynamics, and patient responses throughout procedures, identifying and responding to changes in condition by escalating care as needed. Maintain sterile technique, prepare and troubleshoot EP lab equipment, and collaborate with the care team to develop patient-centered treatment plans. Provide immediate post-procedure care, monitoring complications and ensuring stable recovery while adhering to hospital safety protocols and infection control guidelines.

Required Qualifications

  • One year's recent experience as an EP Lab Tech
  • Current BLS (AHA/ ARC) certification
  • ARRT, RCES, or RCIS certification
  • Current ACLS certification
  • Valid Radiologic Technologist license in compliance within state regulations
  • PALS or ENPC certifications
  • Other certifications and licenses may be required for this position
  • Critical thinking, service excellence, and good interpersonal communication skills
  • The ability to read, write, and communicate in the English language
  • Ability to read/comprehend written instructions, follow verbal instructions, and proficiency in PC skills
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position, move about, move equipment (50-100lbs), push, pull, and bend
  • Must be able to work effectively with a variety of personnel (professional and ancillary) to present a positive attitude and professionalism
  • Must have the ability to grasp, perform fine manipulation, push/pull, and move about when assisting with procedures and/or using department equipment
  • Must be able to cope with frequent contact with the general public and customers while meeting deadlines under pressure
  • Must be able to work under close supervision occasionally, as well as working without assistance from other personnel
  • Must be able to contend with irregular activity schedules occasionally and continuous concentration to detail
  • Must possess visual acuity and ability to effectively communicate
