Job Summary
The Electrophysiology (EP) Lab Tech assists in electrophysiology studies, cardiac ablations, pacemaker and defibrillator implantations, and other specialized EP lab procedures. Responsibilities include preparing patients, operating and troubleshooting EP lab equipment, monitoring patient responses, and maintaining a safe, efficient procedural workflow. Supports cardiac mapping, ablations, device implantations, and related cardiac interventions, with duties such as nursing assessments, patient education on electrophysiology procedures, assisting physicians, administering medications (including conscious sedation per orders), monitoring rhythms and hemodynamics, maintaining sterile technique, collaborating with the care team, and ensuring post-procedure care and recovery.
Required Qualifications
- One year’s recent experience as an EP Lab Tech
- Current BLS (AHA/ ARC) certification
- ARRT, RCES, or RCIS certification
- Current ACLS certification
