Job Summary
Champion "The Layton Way" by ensuring safe execution of energization and isolation activities through daily pre-energization inspections, managing electrical room access permits, and auditing site practices against established standards. Interpret line drawings to verify Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) systems and serve as the subject matter expert for energy isolation in data center environments. Lead High Risk Activity and Job Hazard Analysis meetings, review commission plans, and provide expert guidance to teams on multiple energy sources. Act as the independent authority to stop unsafe work practices while partnering with project teams to implement continuous improvement strategies.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in energy isolation, safety, or a related field
- NFPA 70E Certification
- Experience with DC construction and commissioning standards and practices
- Ability to understand and ensure the safe installation of electrical equipment across various voltages, including AC and DC systems
- Ability to work collaboratively with teams to drive process improvements
- Strong communication skills, capable of explaining complex technical concepts to a diverse audience
- Proficiency in auditing site practices against written standards
- Familiarity with multiple energy sources, particularly in data centers, with an emphasis on electrical systems
- 7+ years commercial construction experience preferred
