Travel Diesel Technician

Job Summary

Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on medium to heavy duty fleet vehicles, including diagnosing mechanical and electrical issues and conducting safety inspections. Accurately document repairs, complete work orders, and inspect undercarriage components while maintaining a clean work area. Access all equipment areas to perform necessary maintenance and follow all safety procedures. Collaborate with supervisors and team members to support fleet operations, with non-travel weeks focused on building Mobile Service Center trucks. Requires 5+ years of diesel vehicle maintenance experience, ASE certification reimbursement, and 100% travel commitment.

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years' of hands-on experience performing diesel vehicle maintenance and repairs
  • 5+ years of experience performing maintenance on heavy duty tractors and trailers
  • experience with aftertreatment, a/c repair, and electrical diagnostic experience
  • Ability to operate a manual transmission vehicle to determine if operating properly
  • Ability to own and maintain the personal tools and toolbox required for the role
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
  • Willingness and ability to meet the physical demands of the position
  • Must be able to enter and exit the driver's compartment of the truck and/or behind cab using normally available footholds and handholds
  • Ability to successfully pass a DOT physical if required for the role
  • Must have a valid driver's license
  • Must perform DOT inspections
  • Diesel and Automotive Experience
  • flexibility, as travel may be scheduled on short notice and can result in sudden changes to your work schedule
  • Candidates should be comfortable adapting to shifting priorities and working in fast-paced, dynamic, and sometimes ambiguous environments
  • Requires 100% travel
  • Candidates must live within one hour of a major airport and no farther west than the Mississippi River
  • Must be able to lift heavy objects
