Job Summary

Provide direct and indirect nursing care to assigned patients while assisting in monitoring and supporting them throughout the surgical procedure. Collaborate with the entire surgical team to optimize patient outcomes by confirming sterile supplies and equipment, assisting with safe patient positioning and draping, and coordinating immediate post-surgical care. Maintain proficiency in cardiovascular and cardiothoracic procedures, including open and closed heart surgeries, while ensuring universal protocol timeouts and accurate specimen handling. Respond effectively to emergencies such as cardiac arrest and adhere to infection control guidelines. This 13-week travel assignment at a Newport News, Virginia facility requires one year of recent CVOR experience, a valid RN license, and current BLS certification.

Required Qualifications

  • One year of recent experience as a CVOR RN
  • Valid RN license in compliance with state regulations
  • Current BLS (AHA/ ARC) certification
  • Critical thinking
