Job Summary
Conduct direct and indirect nursing care for assigned patients while assisting in monitoring and supporting them throughout the surgical procedure. Collaborate with the entire surgical team to optimize outcomes by confirming sterile supplies, assisting with patient positioning and draping, and coordinating immediate post-surgical care. Maintain proficiency in Cardiovascular/Cardiothoracic procedures, prepare the operating room, assemble equipment and medications, and ensure sterile protocols are followed. Actively participate in Universal Protocol timeouts, handle specimens accurately, and respond effectively to emergencies such as cardiac arrest. Provide comprehensive assessment and evaluation of nursing care before, during, and after surgery until patient handoff to the recovery team.
Required Qualifications
- One year of recent experience as a CVOR RN
- Valid RN license in compliance with state regulations
- Current BLS (AHA/ARC) certification
- Critical thinking

- The ability to read, write, and communicate in the English language
- Ability to read/comprehend written instructions
- Follow verbal instructions
