Job Summary
Conduct direct and indirect nursing care for assigned patients, assisting with monitoring and supporting them throughout the surgical procedure. Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and perfusionists to optimize patient outcomes by confirming sterile supplies, assisting with safe positioning and draping, and coordinating immediate post-surgical care. Maintain proficiency in cardiovascular and cardiothoracic surgeries, including open and closed heart procedures, while ensuring universal protocol timeouts and accurate specimen documentation. Respond effectively to emergencies such as cardiac arrest and adhere to infection control guidelines during the 13-week travel assignment in New Haven.
Required Qualifications
- One year of recent experience as a CVOR RN
- Valid RN license in compliance with state regulations
- Current BLS (AHA/ ARC) certification
- Critical thinking
- Service excellence
- Good interpersonal communication skills
- The ability to read, write, and communicate in the English language
- Ability to read/comprehend written instructions
- Ability to follow verbal instructions
- Proficiency in PC skills
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position
