Job Summary
Provide direct and indirect nursing care to assigned patients while assisting in monitoring and supporting them throughout the surgical procedure. Collaborate with the entire surgical team to optimize patient outcomes by confirming sterile supplies and equipment, assisting with safe patient positioning and draping, and coordinating immediate post-surgical care. Maintain proficiency in Cardiovascular/Cardiothoracic surgical procedures, including open and closed heart surgeries, ensuring sterile protocols are followed and responding effectively to emergencies such as cardiac arrest. Handle and document specimens accurately, utilizing data from surgical preference cards to confirm patient identity and procedure details before, during, and after the operation until handoff to the recovery team.
Required Qualifications
- One year of recent experience as a CVOR RN
- Valid RN license in compliance with state regulations
- Current BLS (AHA/ ARC) certification
- Critical thinking

- The ability to read, write, and communicate in the English language
- Ability to read/comprehend written instructions
- Follow verbal instructions
