Travel Crane Operator

Job Summary
Conduct daily pre-operational checks, cleaning, and sanitization of the travel crane cab. Operate the crane safely to lift, move, and position machinery, equipment, and large objects while adhering to all OSHA safety rules and guidelines. Perform preventive maintenance, maintain good clean conditions, and report maintenance needs. Demonstrate understanding of crane capacity, safe lifting practices, product dunnage, and yard location systems. Work as part of a team with crew leaders and ground men to set product on trailers or in yard stacks, assist with rigging, and conduct housekeeping. Requires standing for long periods, lifting up to 75 lbs, and working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Knowledge of crane guide hand signals
- Knowledge of mark-up load steps
- Able to read load-pick list
- Understanding of rigging
- Basic reading, writing, and math skills
- Able to work on a team
- Understanding of crane charts and safe lifting radius
- Able to operate tablet to identify items to be loaded or offloaded
- Able to adapt to changes in work schedules, tasks, or processes
- Values and demonstrates safe working behaviors
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time
- Must be able to lift (up to 75 lbs.)
- Must be able to bend
- Must be able to perform repetitive motion with medium force
- Must be able to frequently climb up to 15 feet above ground using stairs
- Must be able to wear safety glasses
- Must be able to wear hearing protection
- Must be able to wear a hard hat
- Must be able to wear steel-toed shoes
- Must be able to wear a high-visibility vest
- Must be able to wear gloves (various types)
