Job Summary
Conduct registered nurse care in a Med-Surg setting using the nursing process to assess patient needs, implement teaching strategies, and manage interdisciplinary team resources. Evaluate patient outcomes, communicate with families and staff, and adapt communication styles to diverse patient populations while maintaining compliance with federal, state, and local laws. Perform duties requiring lifting up to 100 pounds, exposure to blood and body fluids, and handling hazardous medications. Requires a current RN license, BLS certification, and 1 year of Med-Surg experience.
Required Qualifications
- Registered nurse diploma
- Current registered nurse (RN) license in state of practice
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association
- Proficiency in using computers, software, and web-based applications
- Effective verbal and written communication skills and ability to present information clearly and professionally
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Good organizational and time management skills and ability to be self-directed
- Ability to demonstrate good judgement
- Registered Nurse - LA or Compact
- 1 year experience required MED-SURG
- Must live >65 miles from job site
Desired Qualifications
- Associate or bachelor's degree in nursing
- Certification in clinical specialty area
- 2 year experience preferred
