Job Summary
Assist the team in patient setup and prep, operate radiographic fluoroscopy equipment to obtain diagnostic images for coronary and peripheral vascular disease, and perform hemodynamic monitoring while reporting values to the physician. Document procedures accurately in logs to ensure billing and charge capture, transmit and archive digital images in PACS, and maintain quality control standards through regular equipment maintenance. Monitor radiation dose delivery to achieve safe exposure limits for patients and staff. Adapt communication styles to diverse patient populations, ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local radiation regulations, and report any compliance or safety concerns immediately. This contract assignment requires flexible scheduling including weekends, holidays, and on-call availability.
Required Qualifications
- Associate degree in Radiologic Sciences
- 2 years of experience as an allied health professional
- Basic Life Support (BLS) through the American Heart Association (AHA)
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) through the American Heart Association (AHA)
- Registered Radiologic Technologist in the state of practice
- registration from The American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT)
- computer skills and dexterity required for data entry and retrieval of information
- proficiency with Windows-style applications, various software packages specific to role and keyboard
- Ability to work flexible schedule (e.g. 24/7, weekend, holiday, on call availability)
- Must be able to lift 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly
- Demonstrates knowledge of and complies with all Federal, State, and local regulatory radiation requirements
- Ability to effectively deal with a diverse group of internal/external visitors in a highly stressful atmosphere
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Radiologic Sciences
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Detail-oriented; experience performing complex tasks which may be hazardous to the patient's welfare and skills to detect equipment malfunctions
- An interest and curiosity to learn new procedures
