Job Summary
Travel Consultant with AAA is responsible for selling international and domestic travel packages (cruises, land packages, itineraries, air, car, and hotel), sharing knowledge from personal experiences, developing long-standing member relationships, and cross-selling related products. The role requires a high school diploma, strong sales drive, excellent communication, organizational and multitasking abilities, computer proficiency, and readiness for ongoing training and evaluations that could lead to leadership opportunities. The position is based in Keene, NH, USA, requires availability on most Saturdays and some evenings, and includes benefits and travel-lead training programs.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma required
- Able to pass comprehensive criminal background check and drug screening
- 2+ years of successful retail sales or banking experience or leisure travel agency background
- Available to work most Saturdays and some evenings
- Computer savvy with ability to navigate multiple systems and web browsers, Microsoft Office, and type at least 30 WPM
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Willingness to participate in Travel Consultant Trainee program including some travel for training
- IATAN card provided/required or desired
- Goal-oriented with sales and service focus
- Ability to build and develop long-standing member relationships
- Cross-selling and upselling experience
- Knowledge of travel packages including cruises, land packages, itineraries, air, car, hotel
- Ability to pass/participate in training programs and evaluations
- A love of travel and ability to share knowledge from experiences
