Job Summary
Obtain patient chart information and assist the supervising Occupational Therapist in gathering evaluation data. Modify short-term goals and adapt treatment techniques for assigned patients, including therapeutic exercises for upper extremity function, sensory skills, and coordination. Administer the Occupational Therapy program to restore and maintain maximum functions through self-care instruction, body mechanics education, and leisure activity guidance. Complete clinical and billing documentation and discuss treatment plans with patients and families. Adhere to Symbria's mission, Code of Conduct, and policies while maintaining productivity standards and utilizing provided technology. Available for internal travel assignments across 10 states with a monthly stipend and competitive salary, with continuous assignments guaranteed for one year.
Required Qualifications
- Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)
- Graduate of an accredited school for Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants
- A valid registered license
- Ability to obtain a license or compact license to support assignments in any designated state
- Full license in state of residence (if using a compact license)
- Excellent observation skills
- Excellent verbal communication skills
- Excellent written communication skills
- Problem-solving skills
- Basic math skills
- Effective interpersonal skills
- Strong focus on customer service
- Proficient use of computers
- Proficient use of Microsoft Office: Word, Excel and Outlook
- Ability to provide own transportation between patient visits and travel assignments
- Available and willing to travel to any location where Symbria provides contracted therapy services
