Job Summary
The Cath Lab Technologist conducts diagnostic and interventional cardiovascular procedures in the cardiac catheterization lab, including preparing patients and equipment, monitoring hemodynamic data, assisting physicians during procedures, and maintaining sterile technique. Responsibilities include passing catheters, wires, balloons, and stents; operating fluoroscopy and imaging equipment; scrubbing in with sterile field setup; performing sheath removal and hemostasis; maintaining patient records and equipment logs; inventory management; and adhering to radiation safety and regulatory standards. Requires technical cardiovascular procedure expertise, critical thinking, and the ability to work under high pressure. Essential skills include: critical thinking, strong communication, ability to read and follow instructions, PC skills, and physical ability to handle equipment and emergencies. Certifications required include BLS, ACLS, and ARRT/RCIS/RCES; preferred PALS/ENPC and radiologic technologist licensure.
Required Qualifications
- One year’s recent experience as a Cardiac Cath Lab Tech
- Current BLS (AHA/ARC) certification
- ARRT, RCES, or RCIS certification
- Current ACLS (AHA/ARC) certification
- Valid Radiologic Technologist license in compliance within state regulations
- PALS (AHA/ARC) or ENPC Certifications (preferred)
