Job Summary

Conduct patient assessments prior to cardiac catheterization, including reviewing medical history and performing physical exams. Assist physicians during interventions by positioning patients, placing catheters, wires, balloons, and stents, and operating hemodynamic equipment to monitor cardiac rhythms and waveforms. Manage sheath removal using closure devices or compression, transport patients to recovery, and maintain cath lab equipment and supplies. Monitor vital signs, ECG, and hemodynamic parameters throughout procedures and post-procedure care. Communicate effectively with team members, patients, and physicians while adhering to safety protocols and infection control guidelines.

Required Qualifications

  • One year's recent experience as a Cath Lab RN
  • Valid RN license in compliance with state regulations
  • Current BLS (AHA/ ARC) Certification
  • Current ACLS Certification
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position
  • Must be able to move equipment (50-100lbs)
  • Must be able to push, pull, and bend
  • Must be able to work effectively with a variety of personnel
  • Must be able to present a positive attitude and professionalism
  • Must have the ability to grasp, perform fine manipulation, push/pull, and move about when assisting with procedures and/or using department equipment
  • Must be able to cope with frequent contact with the general public and customers
  • Must be able to meet deadlines under pressure
  • Must be able to work under close supervision occasionally
  • Must be able to work without assistance from other personnel
  • Must be able to contend with irregular activity schedules occasionally
  • Must be able to maintain continuous concentration to detail
  • Must possess visual acuity
  • Must be able to effectively communicate
  • Must be able to read, write, and communicate in the English language
  • Must be able to read/comprehend written instructions
  • Must be able to follow verbal instructions
  • Must have proficiency in PC skills
  • Must be able to adhere to hospital safety protocols
  • Must be able to adhere to infection control guidelines
  • Must be able to adhere to regulatory standards

Desired Qualifications

  • PALS or ENPC Certifications
  • RCIS certification
