Job Summary
Conduct patient assessments prior to cardiac catheterization, including reviewing medical history and performing physical exams. Assist physicians during interventions by positioning patients, placing catheters, wires, balloons, and stents, while operating hemodynamic equipment to monitor cardiac rhythms and waveforms. Manage sheath removal using closure devices or mechanical compression and transport patients to recovery. Maintain cath lab equipment, troubleshoot issues, and ensure supplies are fully stocked. Monitor vital signs, ECG, and hemodynamic parameters throughout procedures and support post-procedure care. Adhere to infection control guidelines and safety protocols while communicating effectively with the clinical team, physicians, and families.
Required Qualifications
- One year's recent experience as a Cath Lab RN
- Valid RN license in compliance with state regulations
- Current BLS (AHA/ ARC) Certification
- Current ACLS Certification
- Critical thinking
- Service excellence
- Good interpersonal communication skills
- The ability to read, write, and communicate in the English language
- Ability to read/comprehend written instructions
- Follow verbal instructions
- Proficiency in PC skills
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position
