Job Summary
Assess patients prior to cardiac catheterization and interventional treatments, reviewing medical history and performing physical exams. Assist physicians during procedures by positioning patients, placing catheters, wires, balloons, and stents, and monitoring hemodynamic equipment and waveforms. Support post-procedure care by assisting with sheath removal, transporting patients to recovery, and monitoring vital signs and ECG parameters. Maintain and troubleshoot cath lab equipment to ensure it is fully stocked and functioning properly. Adhere to hospital safety protocols, infection control guidelines, and regulatory standards while communicating effectively with the clinical team, patients, and families.
Required Qualifications
- One year's recent experience as a Cath Lab RN
- Valid RN license in compliance with state regulations
- Current BLS (AHA/ ARC) Certification
- Current ACLS Certification
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position
- Must be able to move equipment (50-100lbs)
- Must be able to push, pull, and bend
- Must be able to work effectively with a variety of personnel
- Must be able to present a positive attitude and professionalism
- Must have the ability to grasp
- Must have the ability to perform fine manipulation
- Must have the ability to push/pull
- Must have the ability to move about when assisting with procedures and/or using department equipment
- Must be able to cope with frequent contact with the general public and customers
- Must be able to meet deadlines under pressure
- Must be able to work under close supervision occasionally
- Must be able to work without assistance from other personnel
- Must be able to contend with irregular activity schedules occasionally
- Must be able to maintain continuous concentration to detail
- Must possess visual acuity
- Must be able to effectively communicate
- Must be able to read
- Must be able to write
- Must be able to communicate in the English language
- Must be able to read/comprehend written instructions
- Must be able to follow verbal instructions
- Must have proficiency in PC skills
- Must be able to move about
Desired Qualifications
- PALS or ENPC Certifications
- RCIS certification
