Job Summary
Conduct patient assessments prior to cardiac catheterization, including reviewing medical history and performing physical exams. Assist physicians during interventions by positioning patients, placing catheters, wires, balloons, and stents, and monitoring hemodynamic equipment. Perform sheath removal using closure devices or compression, transport patients to recovery, and maintain cath lab equipment. Monitor vital signs, ECG, and waveforms throughout procedures while adhering to infection control and safety protocols. Requires one year of Cath Lab RN experience, BLS, and ACLS certifications. This 26-week travel assignment in Palo Alto offers competitive pay, comprehensive benefits, and support from a dedicated clinical team.
Required Qualifications
- One year's recent experience as a Cath Lab RN
- Valid RN license in compliance with state regulations
- Current BLS (AHA/ ARC) Certification
- Current ACLS Certification
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position, move about, move equipment (50-100lbs), push, pull, and bend
- Must be able to work effectively with a variety of personnel (professional and ancillary) to present a positive attitude and professionalism
- Must have the ability to grasp, perform fine manipulation, push/pull, and move about when assisting with procedures and/or using department equipment
- Must be able to cope with frequent contact with the general public and customers while meeting deadlines under pressure
- Must be able to work under close supervision occasionally, as well as working without assistance from other personnel
- Must be able to contend with irregular activity schedules occasionally and continuous concentration to detail
- Must possess visual acuity and ability to effectively communicate
- Critical thinking, service excellence, and good interpersonal communication skills
- The ability to read, write, and communicate in the English language
- Ability to read/comprehend written instructions, follow verbal instructions, and proficiency in PC skills
