Job Summary
Conduct cardiac catheterization and interventional procedures while assisting physicians with catheter, wire, balloon, stent, and structural heart device placements. Monitor hemodynamic equipment, vital signs, ECG, and waveforms to recognize and respond to cardiac rhythm changes. Prepare patients for interventions by reviewing medical history, performing physical exams, and ensuring proper positioning and lead placement. Manage arterial and venous sheath removal using closure devices or compression, then transport patients to recovery. Maintain and troubleshoot cath lab equipment to ensure full functionality and adequate supplies for procedures. Adhere to hospital safety protocols, infection control guidelines, and regulatory standards throughout the 13-week assignment in Bridgeport, Connecticut.
Required Qualifications
- One year's recent experience as a Cath Lab RN
- Valid RN license in compliance with state regulations
- Current BLS (AHA/ ARC) Certification
- Current ACLS Certification
- Critical thinking
- Service excellence
- Good interpersonal communication skills
- The ability to read, write, and communicate in the English language
- Ability to read/comprehend written instructions
- Follow verbal instructions
- Proficiency in PC skills
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position
