Job Summary
Conduct regular patrols of hospital premises including parking areas, hallways, patient rooms, and entrances to ensure site safety. Monitor surveillance systems and control access points to restricted areas while responding to emergencies such as medical incidents or security threats. De-escalate conflicts and enforce hospital policies regarding visitor and patient protocols. Greet visitors and staff, provide directions, and document daily activities and incidents in accurate reports. Collaborate with hospital staff and local law enforcement to maintain a coordinated security effort. This travel casual role requires a valid driver's license and personal vehicle, with on-call availability for multiple sites in Neil's Harbour. Daily pay is offered with a competitive wage of $20.50.
Required Qualifications
- Valid driver's license
- Personal vehicle
- Ability to obtain Security License for the province of Nova Scotia
- Valid Intermediate First Aid & CPR - Level C (from a CSA-approved vendor)
- English (oral and written) fluency
- High School Diploma/GED
- Certifications in Use of Force (UOF) and Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB)
- Previous experience in security, law enforcement, or a related field
- 6-month commitment to the position/availability
- Willingness to travel to various hospital sites in Neil's Harbour and surrounding area
