Job Summary
Conduct regular patrols of hospital grounds, including parking areas, hallways, and patient rooms, to ensure site safety. Monitor surveillance systems and access control points, responding immediately to emergencies such as medical crises or security threats. De-escalate conflicts, enforce visitor and patient protocols, and provide directions to guests while maintaining confidentiality. Document daily activities, incidents, and breaches accurately. Perform patient watch duties as needed, involving continuous observation to prevent harm and follow clinical direction. Collaborate with hospital staff and local law enforcement for coordinated security efforts. This travel casual role requires a valid driver's license and personal vehicle, with travel to sites like Port Hawkesbury and Guysborough. Pay is $20.50 per hour.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Driver's License
- Personal vehicle
- Willingness to travel to various hospital sites including Port Hawkesbury and Guysborough
- Ability to obtain Security License for the province of Nova Scotia
- Valid Intermediate First Aid & CPR - Level C (from a CSA-approved vendor)
- English (oral and written) fluency
- Previous experience in security, law enforcement, or a related field
- Certifications in Use of Force (UOF) and Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB)
- High School Diploma/GED
- Intermediate First Aid/CPR C
- 1st Shift, 2nd Shift, 3rd Shift, Weekends availability
