Job Summary
Conduct cardiac catheterization lab nursing assessments, document care protocols, administer medications, and assist with procedures in a fast-paced environment. Perform emergency interventions and assume professional responsibility for clinical standards. Requires RN-CVL certification, 2 years of large OR experience, and current BLS certification through an approved provider. Submit two references, a resume, and a completed skills checklist. Schedule includes 10-hour days, 13-week assignment, and on-call rotation for weekends and holidays. Orientation spans the first week including EPIC training.
Required Qualifications
- RN-CVL
- 2 years experience current required in large OR
- Orto, ENT and/or vascular experience
- Must be a team player
- Must be flexible
- Accustomed to fast paced environment
- Must have successfully completed at least one 13-week travel assignment
- BLS certification required
- BLS must be completed through American Heart Association, American Health and Safety, or American Red Cross
- Must be able to float within facility
- Must be able to alternate locations within 20 miles of permanent assigned location
- Must be able to work on call
- Must be able to work weekends
- Must be able to work holidays
- Must be able to work 10 hour days
- Must be able to work shifts that fluctuate to fulfill department staffing needs
- Must be able to work 13 weeks assignment
- Must be able to perform assessments as per unit standards
- Must be able to document on appropriate data base/assessment flow sheet
- Must be able to initiate, utilize and document appropriate protocols and standards of care
- Must be able to administer medication and treatments as prescribed by physician
- Must be able to document according to policy
- Must be able to perform competently in emergency situations
- Must be able to assist with various procedures, treatments, surgical techniques
- Must be able to assign to other healthcare team members as appropriate
- Must be able to assume professional responsibility for current nursing structure and clinical standards of care
- Must be able to wear medical quality face masks
- Must be able to practice impeccable hand hygiene
- Must be able to pass wellness screening upon arrival to work every shift
- Must be able to work in New Mexico
- Must not have directly worked with PHS within 12 months of their last day worked as a PHS employee
