Job Summary
The Trauma Registrar II is responsible for accurate and timely collection, review, analysis, entry, coding (ICD-10) and AIS 2005 scoring for the trauma/burn registries, ensuring compliance with National and Kansas State regulations. Performs database maintenance, audits data quality, and generates registry-based reports for the PIPS program, state/national submissions, and institutional research. Collaborates with the Trauma/Burn Services Team to develop and implement registry services, supports ACS TQIP activities, and contributes to epidemiology and prevention outreach through data analysis and reporting. Maintains registry competencies and participates in ongoing education related to the trauma/burn registry.
Required Qualifications
- High School Graduate
- RHIT degree OR Associates Degree in a health-related field
- American Trauma Society’s Trauma Registrar Course or equivalent provided by a state trauma program within 1 year
- Association of the Advancement of Automotive Medicine’s Injury Scaling Course within 1 year
- Certified Specialist in Trauma Registries (CSTR) - American Trauma Society (ATS) OR Certified AIS Specialist (CAISS) - AAAM within 2 years
