Job Summary
Develop and maintain a cost-effective trauma care system under the direction of the Trauma Medical Director while serving as the primary liaison between the hospital, EMS providers, fire services, and state authorities. Plan, coordinate, and evaluate all trauma patient care activities by conducting concurrent monitoring of medical records, documenting reviews in the trauma registry, and identifying corrective action plans to ensure quality outcomes. Respond to trauma team activations during work hours and lead performance improvement initiatives based on registry data analysis. Oversee adherence to the NH TEMSIS reporting system and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to optimize care delivery. Maintain current knowledge of trauma care through research, conferences, and certification maintenance.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from accredited program
- Current New Hampshire RN license in good standing or active multi-state compact license
- Minimum 3 years of recent acute care experience caring for trauma patients
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certification
- TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) certification
- Strong clinical expertise in trauma care and emergency nursing
- Excellent leadership, communication, and relationship-building skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with EMS, state authorities, and hospital leadership
Desired Qualifications
- CEN (Certified Emergency Nurse) certification
- Experience with American College of Surgeons trauma verification processes
- Background in trauma registry management and data analysis
- Previous trauma program coordination or leadership experience
