Job Summary
Remove trash, dirty linen, biohazardous materials, pharmacy waste, and recycling from all hospital areas and place them in designated locations. Perform Environmental Service duties as directed by supervisors, maintain proper hand washing techniques, and wear appropriate PPE to prevent cross contamination. Complete DOT and biohazard waste handling training via Stericycle within 90 days of hire. Work full-time shifts from 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM.
Required Qualifications
- Understands departmental organizational chart
- Understands Departmental dress code
- Knows proper hand washing techniques
- Understanding of methods to prevent cross contamination
- The wearing of appropriate PPE
- Knowledge of proper use/disposal of gloves
- Must be able to stand, walk, sit, stoop, reach, lift, see, speak and hear
- Lifting is limited to 35 lbs. for clinical staff and to 50 lbs. for non-clinical staff
- Must use an assisted-lift device or get another individual(s) to assist with the lift that is over these maximum limits
Desired Qualifications
- High school graduate or equivalent preferred but not required
- Equivalent work experience is a plus
