Job Summary
Remove trash, dirty linen, biohazardous materials, pharmacy waste, and recycling from all hospital areas and place them in properly designated locations. Perform any other Environmental Service duties as needed by direct supervisors or management. Complete Stericycle DOT and biohazard waste handling training within 90 days of hire. Adhere to departmental dress code, proper hand washing techniques, and cross-contamination prevention methods while wearing appropriate PPE and using gloves correctly. Work full-time shifts from 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM. Lift up to 35 lbs for clinical staff or 50 lbs for non-clinical staff, utilizing assisted-lift devices for heavier items.
Required Qualifications
- High school graduate or equivalent
- Equivalent work experience
- DOT & biohazard waste handling training
- Ability to stand, walk, sit, stoop, reach, lift, see, speak and hear
- Lifting capability up to 35 lbs
- Lifting capability up to 50 lbs
- Ability to use an assisted-lift device
- Ability to get another individual(s) to assist with a lift over maximum limits
Desired Qualifications

- Equivalent work experience is a plus
