Job Summary
Trash Collector in a hospital setting responsible for removing regular waste, cardboard, and recycling materials; collect and transport infectious and regulated medical waste; ensure waste totes and trailers are locked and secure; assist with room setups/teardowns; maintain clean work areas; clean/sanitize trash trucks and carts; load waste totes into trailers; provide courteous, professional interactions with staff and visitors; follow safety procedures and contribute to patient safety and cleanliness; benefits include healthcare coverage, 401k, PTO, and shift differential opportunities.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
- One (1) year of housekeeping or similar experience preferred
- Knowledge of waste collection equipment and procedures
- Good communication and customer service skills
- Ability to read, understand, and follow instructions
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Regular standing, walking, bending, lifting, pushing, and pulling
- Ability to lift up to and over 50 lbs.
- Exposure to Blood and body fluids, Hazardous chemicals, Temperature fluctuations, Waste materials
