Job Summary
Transport residents to treatment areas, dining, and Village-sponsored activities using specialized vehicles with wheelchair lifts. Operate multi-passenger vehicles to move passengers between the Village and destinations like shopping areas or appointments, ensuring proper seating and baggage handling. Assist with organized recreational activities including arts, crafts, and games while maintaining resident safety. Perform daily vehicle maintenance checks on tires, brakes, and safety equipment, then vacuum interiors and wash exteriors. Communicate trip requests and report delays or accidents via radio or telephone. Record trip details on sheets covering pick-up/drop-off times, passenger counts, and fuel consumption. Comply with Presbyterian Villages policies, federal safety regulations, and traffic laws. Maintain current Michigan Chauffeurs License/CDL and computer skills.
Required Qualifications
- High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED)
- Must able to work a computer
- Must have a current Michigan Chauffeurs License/CDL
- Must be insurable by Village's insurance carrier
Desired Qualifications
- Experience working with senior population and or persons with walkers/wheelchairs preferred
