Job Summary
Transport patients to and from the patient care unit safely, assisting with transfers to and from x-ray tables, wheelchairs, and beds as required. Provide patient comfort and safety during movement while ensuring the integrity of all indwelling catheters. Alert nursing personnel when patients leave or return to the unit, maintaining proper body mechanics and adhering to hospital policies for infection control and quality improvement. Handle patients of all age groups with appropriate communication methods tailored to their specific needs and disabilities.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma, GED or relevant experience
- BLS Certification (American Heart Association)
Desired Qualifications
- One to two years' experience in an acute care facility
