Job Summary
Operate company-issued passenger transport vehicles to safely transport children to appointments, extracurricular activities, resource homes, schools, and other approved destinations. Conduct and document required pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, ensuring vehicles remain safe, clean, and inspection-ready. Coordinate with internal departments and resource parents on scheduling, routes, and communication while maintaining accurate documentation of mileage, fuel, and maintenance logs. Immediately report vehicle safety concerns, accidents, or incidents to the supervisor. Ensure all occupants wear seat belts and use appropriate car seats for younger passengers in compliance with safety protocols and California regulations. Maintain a valid Commercial Driver's License with a Passenger Endorsement and a satisfactory driving record.
Required Qualifications
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- Read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
- Write simple correspondence
- Effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees
- Add and subtract two-digit numbers and multiply/divide by 10's and 100's
- Perform these operations using units of American money, weight, volume, and distance
- Apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
- Deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations
- Microsoft Office Suite
- Valid Driver's License
- Commercial Driver License, Class C or Class B
- Passenger Endorsement
- Must maintain an active licensure as a condition of employment
- Completion of behind-the-wheel CDL training
- Must maintain a valid DOT Medical Examiner's Certificate
Desired Qualifications
- Bilingual in Spanish
- 1+ years' experience with children
