Job Summary
Transportation Worker II duties in Rowan County Maintenance involve performing a wide range of semi-skilled and skilled maintenance tasks on state-maintained roads, including operation of multiple heavy equipment (e.g., backhoe, tandem dump truck, motor grader, front end loader, forklift, asphalt distributor/patcher, track excavators, skid steer, sweeper), installation of traffic and erosion-control devices, road grading and repair, ditch maintenance, pipe installation, and emergency response such as snow/ice removal and accident clean-up. The role requires lifting up to 50 lbs, ability to work in extreme conditions, and may include night work, weekends, and holidays; CDL is required for certain equipment or must be obtained within 360 days. Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED or equivalent
