Job Summary
Transportation & Warehouse Engineering Manager leads engineering projects across distribution centers and plant warehouses, develops warehouse process and infrastructure strategies to maximize asset effectiveness within budget, owns capital planning for powered industrial equipment and racking, ensures automation readiness with operations, leads cross-functional collaboration, and drives cost-reduction and efficiency initiatives for MHE, racking, and warehouse facilities; builds multi-year execution plans, manages operating budgets and capital investments, engages suppliers and third parties, and travels up to 50% to plant and distribution locations to ensure project delivery and network-wide initiatives.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required with preference in Engineering or 10 years relevant experience
- Minimum of seven years of industrial engineering or logistics and distribution engineering experience
- Extensive experience with warehouse infrastructure and building systems, including material handling equipment (MHE), racking, dock equipment, and drop lots
- Experience developing and delivering programs from concept through execution
- Experience influencing outcomes in cross-functional teams and third-party relationships without direct reporting authority
- Strong presentation and communication skills, including communicating analyses and recommendations to senior leadership
- Experience driving programs and initiatives in matrixed organizations
- Experience building strong internal and external relationships and holding individuals and vendors accountable
- Background in inventory management, warehouse operations, or related supply chain functions that interface closely with distribution operations
- Project management experience for capital projects up to five million dollars
- Solid understanding of distribution operations and end-to-end supply chain management
